遠方 · Beyond Kyoto

Trade the city for the coast, the forest, the farm.

COYOTE, our camper van, lives on Shin-Omiya shopping street. Take it north to Miyama's thatched villages, west to Tango's turquoise coast, or deep into Fukuchiyama's rice valleys — with experiences pre-arranged through our local partners.

Kyoto Camper Van Rental

COYOTE

In a post-pandemic world, travel has changed. We believe the future of Japan tourism is slower, deeper, and further from the crowd — fuelled by the country's natural and cultural resources. COYOTE is our attempt to let you travel that way.

Seven reasons we love the camper life

  1. 01Sleep anywhere — no hotel bookings needed, and friendlier on the wallet.
  2. 02Arrive in a town that has no rooms? No problem. Your bed drove there with you.
  3. 03Built-in social distance — your own private, ventilated space on wheels.
  4. 04Fridge, A/C, kitchenette — hotel-quality comfort on the road.
  5. 05Doubles as a mobile office, or a rented space for your friends' gathering.
  6. 06Bring the dog. Bring the cat. (We've done both.)
  7. 07In an emergency, a camper becomes a shelter — and we work with local authorities on this too.

What we do

More than a rental — a regional project.

We work with towns, tourism boards and experience operators across northern Kyoto to turn camper-based travel into an economic engine for rural communities.

01

Content for new inbound audiences

We help polish and promote regional resources — food, craft, nature — into inbound-ready experiences.

02

Camper + activity packages

Ready-to-book itineraries that pair COYOTE with a guided activity at the destination.

03

Consulting for towns

Advisory work with municipalities and operators who want to attract camper tourism but don't know where to start.

04

New camper stops

We help under-used parking lots, bathhouses and ski resorts turn into overnight-friendly camper spots.

05

Disaster support

Our fleet is on standby for regional emergencies — providing mobile shelter for affected tourists and residents.

Regional experiences

Three ideas for your COYOTE road trip.

We partner directly with experience owners in Miyama, Fukuchiyama, Miyazu and Kyotango. Book any of these, add our camper, and we'll plan a 2–4 night loop around it.

Miyama Thatched-Roof Village Stay

Drive two hours north and park your camper in a valley of kayabuki thatched houses. Meet farmers who restore old roofs, stargaze from the rice terraces and wake up to morning mist over the river.

Tango Sea & Ine Fisherman Boathouses

Kyoto has a coast — and it is wild and turquoise. Paddle a sea kayak beneath Ine's traditional boathouses, swim in hidden coves, and fall asleep to waves in the parking area of a seaside onsen.

Fukuchiyama Farm & Forest Adventure

Harvest rice with a fifth-generation farmer, hike a quiet cedar forest and soak in a countryside sentō. A deep rural immersion you could never squeeze into a day trip from Kyoto city.
